Program Eligibility

US Active Duty or Transitioning Service Members

  • Ensure you are within 180 days of End of Service date and meet other command or branch specific eligibility requirements. You can refer to this Department of Defense Instruction 1335.35 to learn more.
  • Secure command approval to participate in MSSA program.
  • You may be asked to submit one of the following documents to verify your program eligibility: Basic Individual Record (BIR), Basic Training Record (BTR), Transition Orders, Service Record Brief (SRB/ORB/ERB) or Leave and Earnings Statement (LES).

US National Guard and Reserve Members

  • Secure command approval to participate in MSSA program.
  • You may be asked to submit one of the following documents to verify your program eligibility: Basic Individual Record (BIR), Basic Training Record (BTR), Transition Orders, Service Record Brief (SRB/ORB/ERB) or Leave and Earnings Statement (LES).

US Veterans

Submit a DD-214, proof of honorable or general discharge under honorable conditions.
